When my youngest decided to apply out, thus take the SSAT, I thought we'd get a couple of tutoring sessions and be good to go. That's not how it worked out. The first exam he took (with tutoring support) was OK, but not great. I ordered this book the week before he took the exam the second time. We sat for about 30 minutes each evening and reviewed sections of the book. His scores jumped significantly after using this book as a study tool. He thinks it's all because of the exercises in this publication. If you have a kid who is motivated to prepare this is a great tool.

Good book for middle age students. My kid used and passed her test through this book!

Part of the required reading in one of my graduate programs on therapy. The 8th edition is a great overview of assessment in various parts of the counseling profession. The information is detailed enough to be accurate, but brief enough not to drag the reader down with minutiae and redundancies. Even the sections including details on the mathematics necessary for assessment are not too “mathy”. Enough information on the statistical steps necessary for various procedures is present to be a refresher for those who’ve had a more involved stat course, and enough for a lay understanding of the process involved for those who don’t need to carry out the procedures themselves but do need some knowledge of what they mean.

I bought the ebook for ease of travel. I love reading books on my Kindle and didn't think there would be any issues with this one. But, this is not truly an eBook. It is more a scan of the book. While you can highlight and create notes for download from the highlighting, the charts do not transfer- they appear as text without formatting- hardly useful. The book itself is overpriced regardless of the format. Whether you are renting or buying, go with the print book. I found a print version cheaper elsewhere to replace the awful eBook.

The textbook arrived as expected. Packaging was simple and neat. The textbook itself was in new condition with no marks or blemishes. It served me well during my maters course this quarter. The price was also great!

The book got here on time but the quality of the book is poor. It was rated good quality and the book had a page ripped out and placed where t belonged. The pages have writing and highlighted portions throughout the whole book. Sure the book could be in a lot lower quality, however I would not state that the book is in good quality. It is not worth the amount I paid for.

I like this textbook it explains assessments in a very clear and understandable way.

Not the funnest subject, but if you have to take the class, this book did a great job at making the topics clear and relevant, and perhaps even a bit interesting!

Really? I just paid $2.99 for what should have been a free product manual. There is very little in this that you couldn't figure out for yourself in a matter of minutes, not hours. Don't waste your money.

This book was clearly thrown together with great haste with little or no proof-reading. It is rife with typos, incomplete sentences, words missing from sentences, paragraphs printed in the wrong place, and paragraphs duplicated under two different sub-headings with the intended paragraph missing. It refers to links, with instructions like "Click here," as though you are supposed to click on a printed book. So it must have been copied from a web page, without bothering to customize it for print. The information is quite basic but that may be what you buy this type of book for. But with its sloppy editing, it is difficult to get at that information. Wait for the next edition and hope Mr. Wright has taken the time to read over the book and fix all his typos.

Love that she grows in the job, and I can get an immediate weather forecast. She picks up on My Sirius XM stations, so I can switch music without getting off the sofa. And get great exercise music on the spot.

Really didn't think it tells you how to set up the Echo very well, especially to people that are not very computer literate. Disappointed in what little info the book provided. I feel this book should of come free when you buy the Amazon Echo. Wasn't worth the 10.00 dollars.

Impossible to set my Echo up without this book. Why can't Amazon proviide sufficient t documentation with the product? If you buy an Echo, you should place an order the book at the same time!

I was somewhat disappointed with this book. It has a lot of information but if your like the average person you probably only have one or maybe two cars. So this book will only be useful for those specific pages. In my case I found 3 pages useful the rest did not pertain to me what do ever. However I know more that what I started and I can share this with my friends that have hondas, so not a total loss.

I'm surprised at some of the single-star reviews for this book. IMHO, anyone who thinks this book isn't clearly written simply didn't spend enough time reading and thinking about the material. Let's face it, programming isn't easy -- you need to learn some basic concepts, then learn the syntax of a language, then practice and move on to advanced features. This book does an excellent job of helping programmers, even complete novices, do just that.The author also goes beyond the basics, and covers some hints and tips that are not mentioned in any other beginner's book that I can find. For example, many beginner's books warn about the erratic behavior of scanf(), but only Practical C takes the extra step by providing a complete workaround (the author advises not to use scanf(), and to use fgets() and sscanf() instead).I'm only a beginner, and so far I have purchased and read through Greg Perry's Absolute Beginner's Guide to C, Dave Mark's Learn C on the Macintosh (and on Win 95), the classic K&R C Programming Language, and Practical C. All of these books have their advantages, but I think K&R is a bit too difficult for complete newbies. The Perry and Mark books may be a little too simple, but they're excellent quick reads. Practical C is the perfect middle ground, and I recommend that it be read in conjuction with one of the easier books before moving on to K&R.I also recommend that you read through a chapter completely to get the concepts, then go back and do all the exercises for reinforcement. That's what I did, and even though I struggled to "get" some of the material the first time around, on the second read-through everything managed to sink in.I can't recommend this book highly enough -- it is clear, accurate, and a pleasure to read and work through.

Someday I'll finish this book. But it really does deliver on its promises just keep at it. One chapter a day will probably guarantee you finish the book under two months. Beware too that with each chapter, the solutions get even more complex. It's just part of the learning process... you can just comeback again and try the chapter later.

I used this book to self teach me C.The examples are clear. It has a bunch of exercises. Some of the examples presented have errors but that is fully called out by the author, rather than thinking them as errors or examples, think of them as more exercises. You never really learn a programming language until you think in that language AND debug code from someone else. Learning C is not easy, nor instantaneous. You have to commit some time to it and preferably have some guidance along the way. This book is that guidance.

A great book with a lot of humor! What I really liked about the book was how the author covered good programming practices extensively. Highly recommend!

I got a great deal on this! It was around 50$ at the Barnes and Knoble and I got it for only a fraction of the cost. It came right on time and has been a great resource! No writing in it, perfect condition.

I have no words to describe how I disappointed. Spent almost $40 on this rubbish. These RED books by Test Prep Study or what ever crap company name they came up with, are complete waste of money.• I bought two books in order to have more practice and receive exactly same materials. They just took out math mart from one book and released second book. Why do I need to pay twice for same books?• On cover it says Two Complete Practice Tests! Inside you will just find 20 questions in each test with easy math questions and stupid explanations.• Manual, if you could name it manual, absolute copy from the previous book.• Fake reviews. I relied on good amount of 5 star reviews. BUT, take for example JimSpencer, he left 5 stars to this book, and to 8+ other books by same company but for completely different exams like SAT, ACE, PHR, SAT, MCAT and others.

Full of errors. No real explanation of concepts or rules just a list.

This book has a good general overview of many of the key points but has A LOT of typos. If you want something to get you started studying, this is a good book to use. I would definitely recommend getting another book and using this as a reference for some concepts, but I would not rely on this book as my main focus of studying.

It’s a cookbook to bake a pie when you have to build a rocket; find alternates. It did not represent the actual GRE math section at all, what a waste. The simplicity of the math did not represent the actual challenges faced in the GRE.

John W. Creswell, PhD, is a professor of family medicine and co-director of the Michigan Mixed Methods Research and Scholarship Program at the University of Michigan. He has authored numerous articles and 28 books on mixed methods research, qualitative research, and research design. While at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he held the Clifton Endowed Professor Chair, served as director of a mixed methods research office, founded SAGE’s Journal of Mixed Methods Research, and was an adjunct professor of family medicine at the University of Michigan and a consultant to the Veterans Administration health services research center. He was a Senior Fulbright Scholar to South Africa in 2008 and to Thailand in 2012. In 2011, he co-led a national working group on mixed methods practices at the National Institutes of Health, served as a visiting professor at Harvard’s School of Public Health, and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. In 2014, he was the president of the Mixed Methods International Research Association. In 2015, he joined the staff of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan. I had to get this for a grad course and ended up buying it instead of renting. I have used it with my class and with thesis research. This book is so well worded that the common dummy like myself who is trying to become an uncommon smartie can understand everything without having to look it up.

Fantastic book. Exactly what I needed to guide my dissertation journey. Very easy to navigate.

Diagrams were helpful. Used this for my qualitative methods course. Preferred the Glesne book for better understanding.

The ebook edition has a big flaw. tables in the ebook cannot be zoomed in and very difficult to see the contents of the tables without zooming in. The book is great to learn qualitative study. My only objection is about the visibility of the tables. Sorry, Dr. Creswell; It was not your fault.

I like her work because her designs are always original, unique and beautiful. The instructions are very clear and wide selection of sizes. I have her first book and I use it every time I want to make a hat that people love to wear and to look at.Look forward to your next book Jennifer!

I’m in love with the beautiful variety of crochet patterns in this book! She has patterns for beautiful hats, blankets, baby gifts, baby photo props, etc. Even patterns for adult sized hats! I own a small shop and I’ve been looking to expand my product inventory. Jennifer specifically states in her book that you will find many different items that any crocheter can make and sell in their home-based business caught my attention immediately. I’m hoping she is not done writing pattern books and cannot wait for the next one! If you’re an avid crocheter, I definitely suggest you buy this book!

Am so pleased to have JD's second book. The patterns are amazing. Have made a couple patterns that were fun and easy to follow. Can't wait to make more. Isn't it crazy how your fingers can't keep up with the projects your brain wants to do! Only a crafter knows!!!

This book is amazing!! Beautiful full color pictures, the patterns are well written, detailed and easy to understand even for less experienced crocheters! And she included several sizes for each pattern!! I can't recommend this book enough!! Definately worth the purchase!!

I loved it! This was my first serious crochet pattern book and it was written so very very very well. I have only done one so far, but it was not hard to follow at all! I’m excited to try even more. Love it!
