Think: "I fed this through Google translate and here you go!" Regarding the content, some tips are decent, but nothing like a Frommer's Guide or a book in the Rick Steves series. I urge the author to get an editor and put out a second edition. It is exhausting trying to read English that is so littered with errors.

Wow, the print on this thing is so tiny you'd need magnifying glasses! Pretty much a waste of money, sad to say. Nice idea.

I bought this map for my trip recently to Washigton D.C.I wanted to visit some of the Museums.This map is great. It shows the location of many of the museums and historical sites---thus making navigation much easier.All the areas around the Smithsonian...Arlington Cemetery, Washington Mounument and the areas downtown around the near by hotels are shown...as are Metro Stops.I do highly recommend this map to all travelers to the sites in D.C.

This is a very handy laminated pocket guide to museums and attractions in DC. We used it for reference when presenting options to friends from out of town - it gives an overview of things to do plus how far apart they are from each other and from the Metro. I hope they continue to update this map.

Sturdy laminated street map. Legible. I have used many maps in this series and have found them to be helpful and outlast the trips.

Great guide that made our trip a lot easier.

If you're new to Information Security, this is a decent text to get you started. Having passed the exam, I rarely referenced this book. The GIAC GSEC books (that are received if you pay for the course) are much more comprehensive and directly related to the exam. GIAC exams are open book, so you can bring this into the exam with you, but I only referenced it for one or two of the questions.If you're scheduled to take the course, plan to take the exam, and don't know anything about InfoSec... Read this before you attend the class. It will prepare you for a much more comprehensive experience.

Just know that this book will get you close to passing the exam, but bring other resources with you.

Packed full of knowledge. Great for someone looking to get certified. As with any cert studying, you should use multiple sources.

This book is outdated and was of little help in preparing for the exam. It does not cover the Vista/7/Server 2008/2012 technologies that the exam focuses on, and will leave you woefully unprepared if this is the only material that you use to prepare.

Seems a bit thin on content. Contains lots of stories and general concept discussion, but thin on specifics and details. Maybe the test is also a bit bland, but I was not pleased with depth of the content.

Now it is time for me to take the exam. Many things were covered in this book and it sink it will help greatly, although I wish there was more on ZigBee and IPv6.

Scratches the surface on all topics but lacks enough detail to get you most of the answers you need. I brought it to the test with me and I expanded on the included index for a faster search. I actually found more answers in my notes from another cert I have then I did in this book. I thought it would be more helpful. Wish it would have been. All in one is very misleading. Needs more detail.

This is a review for the duology as as whole *spoilers ahead*I have read plenty of BL (boys love) manga—also known as yaoi—and I have same-sex couplings amongst my characters, but I haven’t read an m/m romance before. Well, there was one that was part of a larger series, but it was the only one in that series that could be considered m/m. I decided it was time to start. I love fantasy, and that has been my genre of choice, so I started looking for m/m romance that would fit the bill. I literally typed in “gay fantasy romance” in the Amazon search bar. A bunch of choices popped up, and Song of the Fallen caught my eye. I have a thing for elves, so an m/m romance with elves in it? Yes, please! This duology caught my attention, and after reading over reviews, I decided to read it for myself. I have never finished two books so fast. I could not put them down. Counterpoint held my attention, as did Crescendo. I loved both Frayrik “Rik” and Ayden (especially Ayden). I really do have a thing for elves. And that poor guy went through so much. Frayrik did, too, but Ayden…it was just one thing after another. The flogging scene towards the end of Counterpoint was brutal. I have to look away if there is a whipping scene on TV, and reading it was just as bad. But it shows the strength of the writer to be able to invoke such emotions. And the banter between him and Freyrik made me laugh on several occasions. Both of these characters have their flaws, but they care for their people, and will do whatever they can for them. But they also love each other, and their loyalties are often torn. Fortunately, it worked out in the end, and they didn’t have to choose, because they got both.Speaking of the ending, I will agree with other reviewers that it was…abrupt. There was all this build-up to the final battle, and then it was just…over. I’m grateful for the epilogue, otherwise it would have been a terrible ending, but I feel the author could have given more details about the battle, and then written the epilogue. There were a lot of unanswered questions. I wanted to know more about the world. What happened to Brenedil? Kona? We know that the slaves were finally freed, but there are loose threads I felt should have been tied up. The battle was anticlimactic, and there was a lot going on that didn’t get the attention it should have. This world has so much potential.That said, it was a happy ending, and, after all they went through, it was good to see that Freyrik and Ayden could stand together as equals in the eyes of others. Ayden no longer has to be seen as Rik’s slave (Rik stopped seeing him that way a long time ago, but others did not), and they can be with each other. They get their happily ever after (though I hope they can find a way to prolong Rik’s life, as he is human, and Ayden will outlive him). I love the line where Ayden says “I’ve looked into the customs of your people. You’ll be wearing the dress” (in reference to marriage). Again, I loved Ayden. As anticlimactic as the final battle was, I was glad for the happy ending, and it was proof that in all the trials they went through, Ayden and Freyrik’s love prevailed. They were tested many times. But they got to be together, to live and love.I recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy. Even if you have never been exposed to m/m relationships, give Song of the Fallen a try. It’s a great story, and the sex is balanced with plot. I picked it up, and it felt like reading a fantasy novel. Even now, I can’t stop thinking about it.

I eagerly anticipated this sequel after reading through the first book, Counterpoint, and coming up against that astonishing ending. Sometimes its not a good idea to really anticipate a book because then you're setting yourself up for disappointment, but in this case there was no disappointment. This was a strong sequel from beginning to end. Like the first one, this book challenges the emotions with many of the dark events in this odyssey-style story.This is a continuation story so needs to be read in order behind the first one.The story continues from the point where the High King or Aegis sends his emissary to bring Freyrik and Ayden to the capitol. Freyrik is under the Aegis' disapprobation because he didn't immediately send Ayden to him as a slave. Ayden is also worried about what has been going on in the capitol that keeps his brother from returning home to his own kingdom.The hardships continue for Rik and Ayden. They discover that surviving the Surge, Ayden accepting the punishment of lashes and that finding love together is not enough. Now Ayden is forced into a true slaveship with his elf magic bound while Freyrik is placed in a no win situation that makes him choose between his brother and the Aegis. Either choice will bring betrayal and disappointment. Under it all, the prince and elf still have each other and they will face an epic adventure once again- together.I don't have a wide range of knowledge when it comes to fantasy romance since this is a fairly new sub-genre for me, but I was fascinated by all the creative twists and turns that the magical world the author thought up.The plot was riveting. I was already vested since the first story, but most of the times I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't have put it down to save my life. Just when I was sure it was going to go a certain way, it twisted and took off in another direction. I loved not knowing what was going to happen next. There was a feel that certain things like a few minor characters' fates that I would have liked to have seen neatly tied up in the end because I was curious about them, but in no way did this take away from a superior plot that focused on the fate of the world and specifically the two heroes.These two heroes- Actually, I could just sit here and gush, but I doubt anyone wants to read that. Heh heh! Truthfully, I found them more than engaging and splendid examples of what a good main character should be in the first book. It just got better with the more hardships that were thrown their way in this story. They are tough and strong enough to weather the storm of life without a lot of angst, but they are also tender and there for each other when it counts.I find that this duo of stories, Counterpoint and Crescendo, are terribly easy to recommend to those who enjoy high epic fantasy adventure.

Book 2 of the Song of the Fallen is a must to read after Counterpoint. I love the captured, sassy male elf Is and the caring prince who takes him for his own. It had everything I was looking for. Humor, pain, angst, humiliation and all that there stuff. The role reversal concept was great but the end seemed kind of rushed. Rachel Haimowitz writes fantastic m/m and this book is no exception. I most definitely wish this story would have continued to Book #3 but I am happy with the ending and recommend this book most highly.

Enjoyed this book and the first, there's obviously a lot wrong that comes with writing the "master and slave fall in love" trope, but for a fun read to sate my need for gay fantasy (and elves), it did a really good job. I got really into the characters, as well, so I was sad to finish this series.

I have read this twice and in another week or two I will read it again. however the only dissatisfaction i feel or felt was in how the ending was "handled", and to be honest I'm not even sure how I would have liked it to be done differently. The two main charactors, find themselves thron into a situation neither are prepared for and deal the best they can. I would recomend this story to friends and readers who like adventure with their romance

This book is great! I loved the magic system and well detailed world building. I only wish for an epilogue at least to know how things turn out for them later in life.

I enjoyed this two book series. I actually wouldn't mind another book with these characters. I loved the love story between Freyrik and Ayden.

I enjoy Lacey Sturm's story. What a testimony. Its great for young adults or adults alike. She talks about struggles with drugs, relationships, depression, and suicide and how she overcame them all with the help of Jesus Christ. An encouraging read.

I read this book in one day.Lacey Sturm writes beautifully and with such vulnerability. The book is wonderfully encouraging and eye-opening.Lacey you are so beautiful in your obedience to the Lord, it makes me want to be closer to him as well.

My daughter could not stop reading this book. It helped her with whats she's going through. That no matter how hard your situation is, by God's grace you will get out of it and will overcome all those struggles.

Lacey is awesome, through her music and written word she inspires all generations to be better than they are and to keep the younger generation from ending it all like she almost did, no matter how difficult life may become. Yes, life is cruel and yes life isn't fair but the alternative is forever. I know from experiences with deep depression. I wanted to take my own life. Granted this one woman's story on how she found true love, not only with her inner self but with God and the love of her life, Josh Sturm and of course her children. I thank God every day that Lacey is still with us. She does have a reason to be alive.

I cannot wait to read her book, i used to love flyleaf and got so sad when she left the band and I didn't know why.. she's just so genuine and I love the fact that she is open about exactly what happened in her life and things people never want to speak of.

This book is raw, honest, and intimate. Lacey has made mistakes and explains how she has used the influences God has put in her life to turn things around for the good. Of course hotels and restaurants are usually high end, but there are so many other entries and things to do, and pertinent information on your destination that make Fodors worthwhile for all budgets - and of course if you want to splurge or eat and stay in a higher range, you have those options.I use guide books mainly for things to see and do and for restaurants and out of town trips etc...

My grandson is moving to Cicago in the fall. He has grown up in Phoenix and went to College in Evansville IN. Chicago outstrips these stops in size, opportunity and complexity. Clear, and complete, it is a perfect book to learn Chicago.

This is the third version of Fodor's travel guides I have purchased, I love them. Informative, well laid out, easy to read and full of very helpful insights. A must before you travel to your destination, but good just to research other countries and cultures, based on actual travel experience. I will be purchasing other destinations.

This Fodor's Travel Guide is just what I was looking for. Very good description of the different neighborhoods of Chicago. Very practical concerning walking itineraries, public transportation,taxis,car and parking info, hotel and restaurant information including the rates. Good information about free concerts, jazz clubs, classic concerts, shopping in the different neighborhoods.The info I found at Amazon was OK and I knew Fodor's are good. Good map of Chicago included, easy to handle, good quality, it's not going to tear apart after a few days.

While everything that Richard K Harrison says about this book it true, the unfortunate fact is that this book was published in 2008. Microsoft has since shifted it's REST service effort out of Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and into ASP.Net MVC. In short, the WCF REST Toolkit is unsupported and Microsoft now recommends using ASP.Net Web API for REST.

I like the way the author writes; however, I have a few problems with the book as a whole:- The example code is a mess. It's badly formatted and a lot of just doesn't work. If you don't believe me, download it yourself before buying the book: [...]- There is just not enough focus on the client (the book contains 11 chapters and chapter 10 is client code). However, the example must have been an academic exercise for the author who focused on SSDS rather than a simpler example. He would have been better off sticking to his example code and focusing more on security from the client's perceptive.

I uses obsolete technologies: Silverlight 2 and WPF which is not RESTful. Silverlight is currently at version 5 and I don't know of any company using it. This book should not be sold.

Lots of good material covered in a concise manner. Overall, the information given here is very useful but a good amount of background WCF knowledge is assumed. The best WCF RESTful reference.

You can configure WCF to do so many things, its good to have a book dedicated to running with one architectural style. This book has been by my desk for a majority of the last two weeks as we were prototyping heavily. Obviously if you're doing stuff with SOAP and aren't interesting in changing your style, a more general book would be more applicable.

This is the only book you need if you are building new web services or exposing existing one in REST style. Right on time and money. I have not seen any comparable book which talk about REST support for WCF in that depth.

Good introduction to rest with .net. I'm a WCF dev so I can say that this book helps me a lot to design out rest API for our services consumers

Dont waist your time looking for any other .net RESTFUL book (to be honest, I dont know if is there any other! ;-) )This is the only one that you need to understand and implement your Windows Comunication Foundation services acordingly with the RESTFUL design. A must have!

I read this book 51 years ago when I was just out of college and into my career. It helped me understand and articulate why I was a conservative. The only thing I disagreed with the author on was that she was an atheist. I certainly don't think you have to be an atheist to be a conservative. I felt that it was time to now reread the book again. It is loaded on my Kindle and ready to go when I work my way to it.

This book provides a brief summary of Rand's philosophy using her fiction novels to illustrate key points. However, I would not recommend this book as the starting point for those who wish to study objectivism. You must read her fiction works such as The Fountainhead, We The Living, Anthem, and Rand's masterpiece, Atlas Shrugged in order to grasp her basic precepts. Then move onto her non-fiction offerings such as Philosophy: Who Needs It?; The Virtue of Selfishness; and Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal. While this book is fantastic, think of it as a "Cliff's Notes" version of objectivism.

Excellent summary of her foundational philosophies as she established them in in various writing. Rand is probably the least understood, most mis-catagorized philosopher ever. She variously been call a nazi, socialist, and capitalist - proof that most people haven't actually read her books. This is a great starting point if you want to read and decide for yourself, as I did. Dare you to find where her reason and logic is faulty.

In today's political climate this is an especially interesting book to read. It regards the problem of morality and what is considered moral, and whether it should be. Ayn is definitely in favor of capitalism and individualism.

A great book to introduce or develop Ayn's ideas. It features an overview intro essay along with passages from her fiction. All of it's forceful - as is typical of Ayn - raising issues that have a key bearing on our lives both as individuals and in society. It does contain some of the biting language that's an element of caricatures of her, but her ideas go beyond this. She's accessible, clear, powerful and as relevant today as when this book first came out in the 1960s.

Forty years ago I read most of Atlas Shrugged , but skipped over Galts speech. I was more interested in the story line than her philosophical ramblings. But I did plan to get back to it. Still didn’t like it. At least now I’m done.

Superb analysis as always from Ms. Rand. She was WAY ahead of any other philosopher in the centuries before her or since. It's easy to see why so many people who are truly willing to hear her ideas and use scientific methods of thinking have embraced her Objectivist system. Objectivists may yet save Liberty for all of us from the uninformed masses who seem hell-bent on reckless statist policies.

I love Ayn Rand. This book is basically a reprint of Galts speech and other excerpts from Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead. Just read those books.

It is written in such a way as to enlighten; giving meaning and explanation to our traditions and norms. It would also be beneficial reading to anyone considering the RCIA process; or those desiring a true unbiased knowledge of the Catholic Faith. I highly recommend it.

For years, I kept seeing references to the GIRM and wanted to get a copy.When I saw it on Amazon.com, and at a reasonable price, I immediately bought one.Every priest, deacon, and anyone involved in the liturgical function of the parish should own a copy and read it.Plus, it is a good source for anyone else wishing to understand the liturgy better. Hmmm. I just talked myself into giving each of my three grown children a copy for them and their family to have.

Minimally invasive procedures in general surgery are more amenable to video recordings than the previous generation of open procedures, primarily because it is easy to connect a recording device to a laparoscope.  As a result, instructional videotapes and DVDs have been available for a variety of minimally invasive procedures since the 1990's.  In addition a number of comprehensive yet conventional operative atlases on laparoscopic general surgical procedures have been published.  It seems only natural to combine these two formats, video and illustrated text, into one instructional format, the DVD-atlas.  The Atlas of Minimally Invasive Surgery is a product of this union.  The multimedia aid consists of a conventional operative atlas combines with a set of DVDs that that contain edited video of each procedure described in the book.  The Atlas differs from earlier instructional video/text presentations in that it contains all of the commonly performed laparoscopic procedures in one presentation, whereas previous attempts at this format were monographic and focused on one procedure or one type of procedure. The Atlas of Minimally Invasive Surgery is not, however meant to be an encyclopedia of every technique described for every type of procedure.  Nor is the Atlas intended to be a platform for experimental surgery (e.g., natural orifice procedures). In planning the Atlas we generated a list of what we believed to be the most commonly performed laparoscopic procedure; for each we asked a primary author to describe the operation.  In truth, there are multiple operative approaches to every procedure in the Atlas. Some are more popular than others; some are easier than others; some are more effective than others; and so forth. Trying to sort out these issues will result in a dialogue that rapidly places the discussants on a "slippery slope" with little controlled data to grab hold to.  We admit that our process for selecting operative procedures and their respective authors to include in the Atlas was not scientific; it was based on impressions we have acquired while observing the evolution of minimally invasive surgery for the past two decades.  The Atlas of Minimally Invasive Surgery is also not intended to be the authority on procedure performance.  Since there are few of no controlled data in this area, only claim to such authority, but this product or others, would be nonsensical.  The Atlas is merely a guide, a collection of "How I Do It" intended as a teaching aid for medical students, surgical residents, and general surgeons.  It is also a product that should evolve over time, as newer and/or improved techniques become established.  It is our belief, and hope that the DVD-atlas format of the Atlas of Minimally Invasive Surgery will become a favorite teaching aid for laparoscopic operations in general surgery.Constantine T. Dr. Frantzides is the Director of the Chicago Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery;Director of the Laparoscopic and Bariatric Fellowship Program at St. Francis Hospital and professor of surgery at University of Illinois in Chicago. He is recognized worldwide as an expert in the field of laparoscopic surgery and is a charter member of the United States Laparoscopic Founders Society. His experience in laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery is one of the most extensive in the USA. He has traveled internationally to perform and teach laparoscopic operations. In recognition of his efforts in teaching advanced laparoscopic techniques, he was named Honorary member of the Brazilian Society of Surgery (Colegio Brasileiro de Cirurgia Digestiva), the Hellenic Surgical Association, and the Greek Laparoscopic Society. During the last 19 years, he has organized 31 laparoscopic courses through which 331 surgeons were trained in laparoscopic surgery. He has created the first laparoscopic fellowship program in the United States (1995) for training young surgeons in the art of minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Frantzides is a member of numerous professional societies and has been the recipient of several awards and honors as well as grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and from the surgical industry. Dr. Frantzides has made more than 200 contributions to the medical literature and has written two books on laparoscopic surgery. He was the first in the world to introduce and perform 14 different laparoscopic procedures. He developed a new safer technique for the laparoscopic gastric bypass ("Triple staple technique" Archives of Surgery, 2003.) This is a superb book. The artwork quality alone is the best I have seen in any atlas in years. I really appreciate that there is a condensed video that goes with each procedure. The narration is particularly helpful in understanding what is being done at every step of the operation. I have been studying for my general surgery recertification, and the text descriptions of each procedure clearly point out the important evaluation, workup and mechanics of the major general surgical operations. One of the most helpful chapters for me was on hernia repair, particularly the illustrations of the inguinal region. This is probably the best I have seen. Although I do not perform bariatric procedures, I found the chapters on hiatal herniorrhaphy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass beautifully illustrated with drawings and photographs that complemented the videos. The artist of this book deserves kudos.

After five years as a practicing trauma/critical care surgeon I have recently decided to undergo further training in advanced minimally invasive surgery. Starting this new fellowship required a solid advanced reference in the practice and technique of laparoscopic surgery.Not only does Dr. Frantzides book provide excellent text in the principles of minimally invasive surgery, but vivid photographs and actual DVD footage of the procedure described in each chapter. The narrative and video are an invaluable resource in grasping the concepts of advanced and basic laparoscopic procedures. I highly recommend it to any practicing surgeon or resident.

I am a laparoscopic fellowship trained general surgeon, and I bought this book about six months ago. It is one of a kind, the text alone is cutting edge, but you throw in live narrated surgeries and it makes it a masterpiece. Any time I have a big case I watch the corresponding video and read the text the night before, and it is the equivlant to a dress rehersal, I know of no other atlas's like it. I carry it with me everywhere. I highly reccomend this atlas for medical students, residents, fellows and attendings.

I am a Physician who recently had LAP Gastric Bypass. I bought this book as I wanted to understand my surgery and the post OP course. It's so well written I found myself reading about other surgeries. It's clear and concise and the videos are well done and informative. The post OP data on my LGB was state of the art and consistent with all of the most up to date literature. The synthesis of the info was great.I would highly reccomend this book.
